CEFR (mcer) levels for Europe

Online Spanish course for European Spanish

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR or MCER in Spanish)) was created by the Council of Europe with the aim of providing a method of learning, teaching and assessment which applies to all languages in Europe. In order to validate a speaker's language ability they have created 6 levels which are now widely accepted as the standard for grading an individual's language proficiency.

The Spanish textbooks recommended by ¡oYe! Spanish are based on these language levels, and students can study online with us using one of thes texts, confident that their course is structured to coincide with the relevant benchmarks in all four areas - listening, speaking, reading and writing.

You can buy your textbooks either new or used from a local or online seller, and your teacher will lead you through a program in which live classes are balanced with personal study periods. This method provides the optimum and most economical means of learning Spanish to specific levels.

The number of hours of live Spanish classes and self-study hours vary for each level of the course and have been calculated to offer the best level of support for students at any particular level. For each hour of live classes the student will be required to complete between X and X hours of self-study, depending on the level. You can schedule your live classes according to your availability and other commitments - one or more hours per week of live classes, leaving you enough time to complete your own study in time for the next live class.

Your teacher will review what you have learned and offer you the opportunity to put it into practice in a live context, before preparing you for the following study period. And if you feel that you need more support you can book extra live classes as you go.
